An entrepreneur goes through many different problems to open
up a business. When a person comes up with a good idea for a business there are

market for it, or there is none. This part of the business is not something you
should take for granted. If you like the idea of the business it does not mean
that it will work. If after a reasonable research you see that it will not give
you a profit than, it may not be something you want to get into because if you
do instead of a business you may just have found an expensive hobby. Remember
that when you don’t make money your business stops been a business. This is a
very important part of starting a business. I made a very big mistake in this
part of the process when I started my second business. I went against the
results of the market research and I failed.
If you think you found the right product or service you
will also need to start evaluating yourself. Every entrepreneur most have the
spirit and willfulness to succeed. Out of every 10 only 3 are in business after
the second year. Many entrepreneurs go for the first try and, if they fail, they
never tried again. Most of the successful business entrepreneurs failed at least
one time in their life. You most not give up after the first obstacle. It is
very important that you learn to deal with failure and have a back up plan. I
could develop a lot more about this issue because it is one in witch I made one
of my first mistakes and therefore learned
lot from it.
There are associations and government agencies that are
supposed to be dedicated to assist entrepreneurs but, according to my experience,
they are absolutely there to assist new business owners and not everyone who
wants to start a business. A new business has to meet the government
requirements and it will depend on how far you have gone on your process to get
your business if you get some help or not. I tried to get financial assistance
to improve my business operation and it was denied because I did not have the
prior years business income tax statement.
The reason for this was that I had the business only for 7 months before
I required the assistance.
Before you start you most count with enough capital to get a place to operate
and the required permits to make it legal. For instance, If you decided to open
a retail business you most find an area with enough traffic to install your
business and if you are going to sell food than the first permit after
registering the business should come from the food and drug administration and
most meet the city requirements. Some cities are more strict than others when
inspecting the location so try to get a list of the requirements before you call
them to get an appointment. In the other hand, if your business is not going to
be retail and will provide a service than you are looking for a different
location. You may be able to operate from home and enjoy the tax advantages of
it but it will depend on the type of marketing required from you to get
customers.
